This logo was part of a commissioned design project for the Sherman Grinberg Film Library, one of the oldest and most iconic privately held film archives in the world. I was one of the designers hired to propose a new identity for the brand. While the team appreciated this concept, they ultimately selected a more literal design direction centered around a vintage film camera. Though not chosen, this piece remains a strong representation of my conceptual approach to brand storytelling.
The design features a stylized aperture shape—evoking both a camera lens and the storytelling focus of the brand. At the center sits a custom monogram of S and G, integrated into the aperture in a balanced, circular lockup. This was designed to reflect the precision, legacy, and motion central to the film archive’s identity.
The clean, modern typography paired with the iconic graphic mark aimed to give the brand a timeless, archival presence while making it accessible to both historical clients and modern content creators.
